Katharina Chapuis was born in Zurich, Switzerland and moved to the United States in 1989. She received her Diploma from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education from Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and her Fifth Year Certificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Her work has been exhibited extensively nationally and internationally, in one-person as well as group shows. In 2004 her paintings were featured at gallery Trittligasse in Zurich, Switzerland and at the Lowe Gallery in Los Angeles, CA. In 2006 her work was included in "Small Works" at the Attleboro Arts Museum, Attleboro, MA where she received the "Juror's Choice" award, and her paintings were part of the 3-person show "Angles on Abstract" at Gallery One, Nashville, TN.
